Acting Jobs vs Employment in everyday jobs?

-I study in acting and done some roles which i have been lucky that can revolve around my full time job - often filed at weekends or i have taken time off.

but i have had to turn down auditions etc if they take place over work or if i cant get the time off.

How do actors audition/get parts and juggle a job.

do many opt for part time jobs or are there actually jobs out there which are good and can be done in the weekend/nights/some time off?

im finding it difficult as i really need to keep a job down but i want to pursue this if there is any hope in it :(My daughter and her friends are actors, and most of them have jobs which they can do free-lance or part time, which is how they can be available whenever they need to for auditions, filming, stage shows, the occasional tour, etc.

For example - they work as photographers, website designers, typists, cartographers, aromatherapists, dance teachers, singing teachers, temporary office clerks, call-centre telephonists, graphic artists, eBay traders, silversmiths, home tutors, make-up salespeople, children's entertainers, and so on.

They've mostly had to train for those jobs as well as training as actors - it's a hard life!

Good luck!you need a job that has a very understanding boss or one where you can have someone cover for you while you go on auditions or you need to work at night so you can audition during the day.
