1. I need a song that kinda involves losing your true love to someone else
2. I need the song from a musical
3. I can sing soprano or alto
4. When I sing I can belt pretty well
5. I have a strong chest voice
6. I need the song to be at least a little upbeat
7. The song needs to be appropriate
ThAnK yOu So MuCh!!!!!! <3
P.s I'd like more than one option and website would work too :)
ThAnKs AgAiN tHiS mEaNs ThE wOrLd To Me :)Here's a tip, pick a song you know and like.
I'm sure you've seen Disney movies and other musicals. Go to the video store, rent some musicals and learn some songs.
I don't think anyone would be able to pick a song for you to be honest.
Here are some suggestions. In the future, it would be helpful to know what show you are auditioning for so the suggestions can be tailored a bit more to fit the style of the show. Break a leg at your audition!
I Love You Song - an Olive solo (Putnam County Spelling Bee)
Knowing When To Leave (Promises Promises)
I Don't Know How To Love Him (Jesus Christ Superstar)
What Did I Ever See in Him? (Bye Bye Birdie)
I Know The Truth (Aida)
Better (Little Women)
When We Are Wed (Once On This Island)
Sweet Liberty (Jane Eyre)
Frank Mills (Hair)
But Not For Me (Crazy For You)

How do you become an actor?
-well, I've become very interested in acting and after researching for hours and days and weeks. . . I know you need acting classes to become an actor. I'm only 14 and I am interested in acting in films and shows and whatnot's. I want to know if you definitely need to take acting classes to audition- where can I audition and more. I have no experience besides a musical- not a play- that I got a small supporting role- not a lead role, but not the background people either. I have to thank Kevin Spacey actually for inspiring me also because I read how he became one by meeting Jack Lemmon and then getting to be in one of plays. Thanks for your help!if you are under 18, your parents have to make you an actor. To make acting your life's work, you have to act in everything you possibly can, especially amateur plays. It takes a lifetime of effort to be an actor.
I'll tell you how I became an actress. I took drama in High School for 4 years and then I enrolled in an acting school here in the Los Angeles area. Since the studios out here are always looking for Extras and they are also looking for talented young actors and actresses, they will let the local acting schools and also the High Schools know what they need. There are also talent agencies that you can become listed with. Anyway, I went on a casting call to be an Extra in a movie at Universal Studios and the casting director called me aside and asked me if I had any acting training or experience and I gave her my resume. So, she had me read a few lines and then cast me in a very small part but I got to say two lines and it's a movie that has not yet been released Titled Wanderlust staring Jennifer Aniston. The assistant director who worked with me seemed to like me so, I'm pretty sure I will have other opportunities to work with them in the future. From what I understand, the major studios want people who want to be actors and actresses and have taken the time to prepare themselves by taking lessons. So, that is where you need to start.
The steps to being an actor are the steps you take.
Acting is usually one of three things: a Hobby, a Lifestyle and a Career.
Already because of the three different meanings there are three different paths.
In short, no path is the same and what worked for one person mightn't work for someone else.
Anyone can pick Acting up as a Hobby.
Whether it be picking up a script, grabbing yourself a camera, acting it out, filming it then uploading it to Youtube. Or seeing an audition notice in a local newspaper for an upcoming play, contacting the director, attending the audition and seeing how it goes.
As a Lifestyle, you've decided that Acting means something more to you long term.
Therefor it may be in your best interest to get involved with Acting Classes, Acting Schools, become a Member of a Theatre Company to generate more regular Acting Opportunities. Though how you enjoy Acting as part of your Lifestyle is up to you, same as enjoying Exercise as part of your Lifestyle.
The website Starnow:
http://www.starnow.com/curtisfarrell
Provides opportunities for Actors interested in both of the above and occasional professional opportunities as well.
For Actors in Australia I recommend against AT2 as it's very similar to Starnow - you get the same types of opportunities, though you have to pay over $100 more per year for them and they discriminate between Actors who do have an Agent and those who don't.
If you're after Acting as a Career there are certain things inside of your control and outside of your control.
What's inside of your control is keeping yourself ready, centered and focused - (this is usually done by keeping yourself busy with some acting opportunity whether it's paid or not). Having an Agent, representation, networking and looking for work.
What's inside of your control are the avenues you have to generate work, what's outside of your control is the work that comes in.
Lucky breaks are also outside of your control. You can do your best to be in the right place at the right time, though sometimes it's not a matter of what you know but who you know.

Answers that give you a bulk ladder in how to become an actor are false.
As anyone can become an Actor just as anyone can become a cook.
Acting isn't the same as being famous and Acting means many different things to many different people.
The best step for you to take, is the step that is available to you.
Once you take that step I'm sure you will gain insight as to what you'd like to pursue and what step you'd like next to take.
All the best :)

Will billie joe armstrong be in the touring version of American Idiot the Musical?
-I know he played the part of St. Jimmy in Feb. 2011, and in 2011 the show is touring around America and I was wondering if he would be returning as St. Jimmy. Thanks in advance.I'm pretty sure Billie Joe won't be touring. I haven't seen a cast list for the tour yet, but it's a very skimpy schedule. He was basically on Broadway to help drum up business, since audiences weren't that full. I saw it (not with him in it), and it was really fantastic. It deserved to be sold out. The only thing I did hear of him doing it again was apparently they're making it into a movie, and he's going to do St. Jimmy in it. But, eventually, they'll have a tour cast listed and you can know for sure.He wouldn't be playing as saint jimmy, but green day members may appear randomly at some shows. before green day changed their website I looked at the tour dates for american idiot the broadway and it said no billie joe when you click on them
Acting Jobs vs Employment in everyday jobs?
-I study in acting and done some roles which i have been lucky that can revolve around my full time job - often filed at weekends or i have taken time off.
but i have had to turn down auditions etc if they take place over work or if i cant get the time off.
How do actors audition/get parts and juggle a job.
do many opt for part time jobs or are there actually jobs out there which are good and can be done in the weekend/nights/some time off?
im finding it difficult as i really need to keep a job down but i want to pursue this if there is any hope in it :(My daughter and her friends are actors, and most of them have jobs which they can do free-lance or part time, which is how they can be available whenever they need to for auditions, filming, stage shows, the occasional tour, etc.
For example - they work as photographers, website designers, typists, cartographers, aromatherapists, dance teachers, singing teachers, temporary office clerks, call-centre telephonists, graphic artists, eBay traders, silversmiths, home tutors, make-up salespeople, children's entertainers, and so on.
They've mostly had to train for those jobs as well as training as actors - it's a hard life!
Good luck!you need a job that has a very understanding boss or one where you can have someone cover for you while you go on auditions or you need to work at night so you can audition during the day.

I want to be a child actor help?
-hey i have said i want to be an actor in my other questions but now i want to be like a child/teenage actor my parents know i want to be an actor just not at my age right now and i really want to do this but they said that i should go and be in the school play to see if thats what i want to do but i dont want to be on the stage i want to on the tv screen os the big screen/cinema but preferbly on tv doing some sort of tv programme so any advice on how to get there and/or tell my parents?Hahaha I used to want to be a child actor. For one, it depends what you want to act on. You can go on google maps and search for the nearest acting studio, and ask your parents if you can go there. Acting studio's are pretty exciting, try it out.
I like video making and acting... What course for college (in the Philippines) should I take?
-Does anyone know what course for college can I take when I posses the things above?
What is the best job for someone who loves hot women ?
-I like sexy, attractive women. I have bad image about jobs. I have to sit front of computer for long time, sounds so boring. I want to interact with people.
I am male.Personal trainer
Fashion designer
Bouncer at a strip club
Porn producer
Playboy photographer
Modeling agent
Hair stylist/makeup artist
Yoga instructorKIttySue has some good suggestions - but do read your question again.
Don't you think it sounds incredibly shallow?
There are thousands of interesting jobs out there for people who are prepared to study hard and put in the effort.
If I was a young hot woman (which I once was, many moons ago) I'd run a mile from anyone who asked a question like that - you sound like a complete prat. When a man only wants a job so he can meet sexy women, that spells ignorant, shallow loser.
Learn to dance, sounds gay but...
Dancers have there bodies tuned into perfect shape and our very flexible.
As the male dance partner there will be lots of lifts and moves with obvious sexual conitations.
and lots of there dance partners are gay so very little competition.
Boom!!
a personal trainer or a masseur or a pimp.
A pimp.

Experience as background actor?
-I was wondering if anyone can share their experience as a background actor? I was invited to go as an extra this coming Monday, not even sure what film they're filming here in Toronto, and they're not sure about the length of filming either, but I guess that's normal. I would go if I was free that day, but problem is I have an important class lol. So I was wondering if anyone could share their experience (as it applies to Canada... read a lot of American version stories already), is it worth it? Payment is not a concern at all, I don't really care about the money earned, more into how the experience is like. Not really into acting, and don't have an fetish for trying to get close to celebrities, but I do want to see how a "real" filming process works.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm just a bill acompaniment?

If you wanted to be famous, how would you attempt to be famous?
-I would improve my singing and songwriting skills and acting skills (i wanna be a singer and actor and also famous) I would do that first then work in any store for like a year and then when i feel i improved alot and have enough money for everything i would contact a record company that is well known(that wont be easy) and i will get help for writing my first album and single and then try my best in making it an amazing pop song with a bit inspiration from my favorite singers and i will keep training for a better voice and better acting skills. And i will dress in weird things to get people's attention(i have a weird and dark fashion sense) probably like leather, studs and spikes and alot of black stuff but i'll start out light but later on i'll show the real me more.So thats all i would do,i'd do alot more... but how would you try to become famous?I agree with Tyler - but your question sounds SO immature, pretentious and unrealistic.
Wanting fame is a kid's silly fantasy - for any reason.I wouldn't like to be famous for being a cold blooded ***** aka Casey Anthony and making millions I would rather be famous from acting
Well have talent obviously, don't just be a poria like Lady Gaga, or all of the other Transvestite singers. And then don't ask dumb question.(Case in Point, the dumb question you asked.) It is a very shallow thing to search for fame, if you are worthy fame will come to you. Now if I were to become famous, it would hopefully be for my writing, but I don't write for fame, I write hoping that someone will care enough to read my story. I don't mind if I never make it as a writer or any of my dreams come true, I just want to live a happy life, and fame or not, I know I will.

VOICE? SPEECH PROBLEM?
-I take speech cause i cant speak right.i cant say my 'R's or ing right well i can but thats if i really try. I been taking speech since i was little and i was force out this year. People think i have a British, new york, boston, or some other accent. people always ask what accent i have and few people say i dont have an accent. Alot of people love my accent. my teachers make me repeat what i say cause they love my voice. And then alot of people hate it and they cant stand me talking at all. I dont talk much cause people cant understand me or make fun of me.Whats ur opinion on peoples voice i think it shouldnt matter. but im starting high school soon and i wanted to know if i should care what people think about my speech problem. I also do drama and i love it. my drama teacher says im a great actress but the only thing holding me back is my voice. But she says i should continue it in high school. Should i?
oh i was born in Kentucky (idk if that has to do with my accent)
Sorry this was long and probably confusing. and i ask multiple questions
but please answer honestly
thank youHaving a unique sounding voice is fine for an actor as long as people can understand what you are saying. It could even be something that makes you memorable and marketable. If you are serious about trying acting, I would suggest you continue to see a speech therapist or voice teacher to help you improve your diction.
As you get older, you will meet people and make friends who think your "accent" is great and that it makes you special. Your high school years will be tough if you care too much about what people think about you... once you graduate and go on to college or a career you will look back and realize that those 4 years weren't as monumental as you thought.it's important that people are able to understand what you are saying without going, "what? what?" every 5 seconds...
to me idc about accent as long as i can understand them

Where else can I kiss her with out people being bitchy about it? Thnks:)Back seat, that looks so trashy if you do it in the middle of the theatre where everyone can see.
if that guy doesnt like it he can sit somewhere else.

Any advice on doing lights for a show by myself?
-This is my second show doing lights, but my first doing it alone. They are doing beauty and the beast. Any ideas (mainly on the transformation scene i can use? thanksI always liked the cobalt blue gels for some effects.
That might work if you fade out of a GI and into that.
Also, I had good luck combining two different color gels to get a peach color that wasn't available in stock at the time.
What might look good would be go to the cobalt blue, have the actors wear something reflective which catches the light and bits and pieces of the light reflects back as sparkles.

How to get recognized?
-I want to know how to get on tv? I am 15 years old. It has been my dream to be an actor. But I don't know how to get noticed. I have had no acting career or lessons yet. But, I REALLY want to be an actor so badly! I want to know how the other kids my age got in shows like Miranda Cosgrove or Victoria Justice. How did they do it? I would LOVE to be an actor. It has always been my DREAM!!! Please help :(Well, start taking classes at your school next year if they offer them, look for lessons/classes around your area in performing arts centers, acting schools or even dance studios. Practice with books of monologues, dialogues, plays and act like your those characters. Visit talent agencies when you feel you have some technique to get a feel for what it's like in that world and also maybe find other talents so you have an edge when you audition. Like some musical ability (knowing how to sing is always good) or any other instruments, athletics or whatever other talents there may be. Also audition for your school productions, community productions, church productions. Jump at any opportunity you see...if you're school offers television production take that too. Anything that helps. Hope this helps you gain a little insight.
*Some minor experience in the acting/drama fieldThey started becoming actors at the age of 6 or 7, hun. im not saying its too late, but you need to take lessons to see if you even like it or not. what they get is TALENT AGENTS. and those cost MONEY. talk to your parents about that. they can get a talent agent for you (if they are on board with you as wanting to become and actor which is a hard job, just sayin). talent agents see your plays and how you act and then get you on an upcoming show. HARD.WORK. You wont become a superstar overnight, sweetie. stop being so retarded and focus on studies and school and friends and stop having dumb fantasies about wanting to be like actresses who work their butt off day and night. and its hard to land a role so you have to be good at acting. OH MY GOD. i just realized you know NOTHING about acting. TAKE. A LESSON. OR. TWO. you dont know crap!
You have no experience, no teacher, no lessons, and you want to get noticed? There are people with all of these things and they don't get noticed!
You need an excellent acting coach and school. Acting school costs loads of money. I'm talking hundreds of dollars PER lessons
You need lots of experience. School plays, professional plays, student films all are great for experience.
Any talents other than acting? Singing, dancing, sports, talents, you should put on your resume
You're always going to need a head shot (can cost up to 250-500 dollars) and a resume.
Sample resume: http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww80/鈥?/a>
You need an agent. Agencies are looking for people with all of these things.
Talent cannot be taught, you have to be born with it.
Considering you had no experience or lessons in acting, I'm guessing you only want to be on TV for FAME. No, that's not how it works. You need to love what you do.
People say "oh, I want to be famous and act, I don't understand why people always want it for the fame" but THEY ARE THE ONES WHO WANT IT FOR THE FAME. They try to convince themselves they don't want it for fame, but really, that's ALL they want.
MY DREAM: TO ENTERTAIN OTHERS AND BE A SUCCESFUL ACTRESS :)
take some acting classes & and then get an agent! if you need more help check this out if you鈥檙e interested http://www.youtube.com/user/thatsophiaki鈥?/a>

MY DREAM: TO ENTERTAIN OTHERS AND BE A SUCCESFUL ACTRESS :)
take some acting classes & and then get an agent! if you need more help check this out if you鈥檙e interested http://www.youtube.com/user/thatsophiaki鈥?/a>
I need the best audition song ever for 13 yr old soprano or alto?
-In about a month Im going to try out for a musical and there is a part that I am DYING to have. She is the main villain and Id really
appreciate it if anyone could recommend an audition song for me. I'd
really like it if the song was upbeat and either involved evilness or
losing your true love to some one else. I'd like the song to be from a
musical and I'm 13 and I can sing soprano or alto. I can belt and I have a really strong chest voice
Thank you soooooo much <3well a some good evil songs would be
"little girls" from annie
"poor unfortunate souls" or "i want the good times back" from little mermaid
"be prepared" from lion king
a good one that isn't really evil but more spoiled and mean would be "cooties" from hairspray:)
I think the song "Cruella Devil" is a very good song for evil because she is herself. (Sorry if I spell it wrong it is the song in "Dalmatians 101")

Who is your favorite actresses from the 20s 30s 40s 50s?
-and why do you like them are their filmsAudrey Hepburn, she's just an inspirational icon for me. I can't really explain why I love her in her films, she just has the power to captivate her audience. That's probably why she's on a list for best actors and actresses of all time.
Audrey Hepburn!!!!! Because for some reason watching her movies makes me happy. Haha. We have posters of her in our basement. Lolz.
Bette Davis because she had so much talent and played a wide range of roles.

Special Skills on my resume...?
-It feels weird asking this on the internet lol but i'm auditioning for Step Up 4 and I was thinking of applying "fast learner" to the "Special Skills & Talent" area of my resume since I might be one of the dancers in the movie, would "fast learner" be suitable for "Special Skills"?That isn't really a "skill". A skill is something you learn to do and can practice to improve on, like playing an instrument or juggling. If I saw that on a resume I would likely think nothing of it because it sounds like a filler statement that anybody could use. If you want them to know you are a fast learner, then prove it at the dance audition by picking up the dance combo very quickly. You could also employ the "Ask and Move" technique at the dance audition - if you are standing in a back row while learning the dance, raise your hand and ask for clarification about one of the steps while walking forward. You have now placed yourself in a spot where you will be highly visible and let the auditioners know you are intent on getting the steps perfect.
Can we consider anton chekhov as a contemporary dramatist.?

What are a key aspects that make an good actor?
-What are the kind of skills that you think are important for a actor to use and portray to able to play an decent character?Good acting is attributed to (but not limited to):
. Good listening
. Good reacting
. Good reading
. Good relating
. Good Focus
. Good Energy
. Good line learning technique
. Good control/use of your mind, body and expressions
. Good projection
. Good direction and good with taking direction
. Good attitude
. Good assertiveness
. Good health and fitness
. Good imagination
. Good improvisation
. Good self esteem and self worth (not arrogant)
. Good drive and commitment
. Good eye and body language
. Good judgment
. Good risk taking (feeling the fear and doing it anyway)
. Good communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
All the best :)When it comes to acting, theatre, drama etc. it is always important to enhance the character within you and be the character in your own home as a little warm-up. Always remember that good use of blocking (movement), reinforcement of props, costumes and what not and projecting and enhancing your voice is essential when it comes to performance as the effect you are trying to have is one in which the audience; knows who the character is, knows what role they have, understands their place in the story, feel the atmosphere and emotions that the character is trying to present (mood), as well as being able to understand what atmosphere and emotion that is in the way it is presented (tone). Simply and plainly try different approaches to your character and, most importantly, imagine it from an audience P.O.V (Point of View) and ask yourself if it achieves the criteria placed above as well as asking if it feels/felt engaging and interesting for you to watch (from audience P.O.V)
PS. Sorry that it's kinda long and complex but if you look at it clause by clause it makes perfect sense :) .
They turn up on time
know their lines and where they come in
and can make the role believable.

I want to be a child actor really bad please help?
-hey i have said i want to be an actor in my other questions but now i want to be like a child/teenage actor my parents know i want to be an actor just not at my age right now and i really want to do this but they said that i should go and be in the school play to see if thats what i want to do but i dont want to be on the stage i want to on the tv screen os the big screen/cinema but preferbly on tv doing some sort of tv programme so any advice on how to get there and/or tell my parents? i really want this but i also dont know were to start please help i live in northern ireland belfast area so please help this is my dreamA lot of actors start on stage and move to tv. If you look at most English actors on TV they have done work at the national theatre. The really good child and teenage actors tend too be ones with bodily problems because for licensing reasons it is easier if an actor is over 16 also they would have more training. Your best option is to join a good child agency. Do the play, it can't hurt your chances it will only help.
good luck.
good luck.
Casting call question?
-This is an offer I received from an industrial company:
Principal talent rate: 100.00 hour session and buyout..... What does this mean? Mainly the buyout? In the UK it would mean that the person who gets the principal role would do the session, act, and then sign away their rights to any further payment for that piece of work from the company, no matter how many times the commercial or whatever was aired.
Check, but I think that's what it would mean.

I would like to audition for Disney channel.?
-I am 13 and love to sing and act. I have no agent. How much does that cost and do i need one? I also live in Atlant Ga, are there any auditions close? I have braces, does that matter? Please help?
Thank you for your answers. To get to Disney, you have to have an agent. Sometimes agents do open casting calls and you can audition there. Disney doesn't do open casting calls, only agents can find you a spot in there. Agents get a percentage of the money of the profit from the projects. Here's some Alanta agencies:
People Store- www.peoplestore.net
William Reynolds Agency- www.williamreynoldsagency.com
J. Pervis Agency- www.jpervistalent.com
Houghton Talent- houghtontalent.com
Those are just some!
Braces don't really matter, Disney will/can edit it out. It only matters if you have problems with speech. You sing though, and that will give you an advantage in getting a job.
Alanta is a big city, so they might have open auditions, here's a good website to look into for Disney Auditions: www.filmtelevisionauditions.com
Hope this helps! To get an agent you'd have to have been taking acting classes for several years and had lots of experience doing stage plays, etc.
As virtually all auditions are only to be found through good agents, getting one is going to be vital.
No agent is interested in beginners, however much they love to sing and act.
Agents take a percentage of your earnings through jobs they've found for you, so they don't get paid upfront - that's why they only represent top-earners.
The braces are important, so even if they do make a difference, you'll just have to stick with them - it's your future!
Get into a good class or stage school and start working towards your goal - but do aim higher than the dreaded Disney! All the stuff on the Disney Channel is such exaggerated rubbish and the acting is terrible. They are awful to work for and are responsible for many promising actors' careers going down the pan.
Aim to be a real actor!
Good luck!
Im sorry but no, there are not any Disney Channel auditions going on right now. It wouldnt really matter if you have braces, I have them 2. If you wanted to do any auditions you would need an agent, but i do not recomend getting one. They are very expensive and theyre not vey nice either. I just recently auditioned for Disney Channel and there was a casting agent there. They said that they would like to me in a show (not as the lead, but as one of her bet friends), but I would need an agent first. The agent there said that he didnt think I was that good, and he didnt think I would be on the show very long. He wanted $5000 a month. I wouldve had to move to Hollywood and everything, so I denied the offer :( . I found out about this audition on tv, but in order to find real auditions, you need to have an agent because they are the only ones with access to find auditions. I love acting so much but I dont think you should get an agent. You should just look online for auditions because sometimes things leak out. Sorry I couldnt have better news!!!
I hope I helped!!!
Well firstly you can't just audition for Disney channel out of the blue. Disney channel normally does casting sessions in different cities and normally they're advertised on the radio and stuff. For those casting calls you don't really need an agent. Uh, the braces thing? It might matter, I mean it's TV, you never know. But otherwise you'll just have to wait for the next one. I don't think there will be one in Atlanta so you might have to travel for that kind of thing.
your parents have to get that for you, your braces are a no-no. There is an audition this month in Richmond. An adult can find it on the web.
disney auditions are in LA mostly and you need an agent to know about them. they are having an open call in virginia. don't know if they are going anywhere after that.

Does Creative Artists Agency sign unknowns?
-Also, do they accept represention materials for submission or is it the other way around: they come looking for you?
Please only serious answers. This isn't a stupid question, I'm actually really curious to see how these big agencies operate and why they would or would not accept certain types of materials for consideration.I don't know about this specific agency.
However, I can tell you that legit agencies do not search for talent. Anyone who walks up to you on the street and says they are a talent scout is going to try and scam you.
It depends on what you mean by unknown actors. If you have experience in community theater and high school, are you still unknown? In an agents opinion, this means you have experience and they could take you onto their books.
But, the majority of agencies want people with training. This means that you know how to do the job you are being asked to do, rather than just extra work.
Bear in mind that all actors are unknowns until they are put on tv or something.
Hope that helps.

Stepsister Audition For Cinderella Musical? 10 points to the best! :)?
-Hello! I believe I'm a mezzo-soprano, maybe a soprano. I would like to audition for one of the stepsisters in the Cinderella Musical! I most likely will audition for Joy (she's the short and plump one) but I'm not eliminating Portia yet (she's the tall and lean one). For both characters, what songs and/or monologues would fit for each personality? Thanks ahead of timeRIP america
Which Disney audition to go to?
-I am going to Florida to audition to become a cast member for the Disney parks. I have gone to the Disney Auditions website and I see that some of the audition listings are very similar. I was wondering what the best one to attend would be: Disney Character Performers for Shows & Parades, Disney Character Look-alikes or Disney Character Look-alikes. I would love to be a face character but i realize that is a very difficult position to get.
What the HELL is a hufflepuff?
-Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders ;) !!Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders ;) !!Well, everyone that looks like a good guy goes in Gryffindor, and everyone that looks like a bad guy goes in Slytherin. Then I guess all the nerds (and Cho Changs, y'all) go in Ravenclaw, while the losers and the finders go in Hufflepuff. The houses are chosen by the Sorting Hat and other aspects of the student's personal life are chosen by the Scarf of Sexual Orientation.
It's a part of the Harry Potter story. At the wizarding school Hogwarts, students are sorted into different Houses (aka group that they live with, like dorms) based on their personality. Hufflepuffs are known for hard-work, loyalty, and being kind.
You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hufflepuff#Hufflepuff

What are the steps to becoming a famous pop star, and how do i get a song out there? How much might it cost?
-don't criticize me because i want to make it big , i already know the risksyou might find some useful information on the indie survival music guide.
there is much on getting your music online not so much becoming famous.
The Internet. No really. Get some songs or videos on the net and start interacting with people and advertising yourself. But don't be annoying and don't act desperate.
do what rebecca black did.

Help me with my auddition please.?
-I have an auddition july the 16th its just to get more agents. When i was taking modeling classes my teacher told me to always put on natural color nail polish. I dont know what colors are natural. Im going to get my toes and nails done. I dont want no fake nails i wanna do it with my own ones. What color should i put on. One thats cute and pretty but not to out there. And i have to do a 15 secound commercial and i choose mariah cosgrove neutrogena commercial its 30 secounds but i cut some of it off to only the parts she was talking. My skin is'nt clear im black btw anyways my skin isnt perfect like all the people that does the commercials so im going to put on make. I have to btw Lol but makeup that looks natural. Do u know any makeup thats very good at covering black spots and i can still look natural and my face wont be cakey. When i go buy my dress for the audition im going to tell my mom to buy me makeup because mines are a little....iono messy and broken Lol anyways Please help me :)Natural color polish means neutral tones - clear, beige, tan, taupe, pale pink (though not sure how it would work on your skintone). Nothing bright - no reds, no purples, no blues, no neons, etc
I would go to MAC as they have foundations and concealers for all skintones including various shades of black skin.If the audition is for modelling, maybe all that stuff matters, but if it's for acting (and this is the Acting section) then no-one is going to give a damn what nail polish you wear.
Genuine acting agents will expect you to have had several years of formal acting classes or drama school, and lots of experience in leading roles in stage plays and short films at the very least.
It's you acting ability they'll be interested in - and your personality - nothing else.
Personally.. I use concealer. A color maybe on shade lighter than you skin and blend it very well.... to light and cover dark spots.. natural nail color a light soft pink... if you define your eyebrows..(look on youtube at ulovemegz video about eyebrows) throw on some eyeshadow, liner, blush, bronze and a nice lip gloss... you should naturally beautiful
White, or light yellow, those simple but elegant colors all can be true. Having lots of confidence is much important, i think.

What are a key aspects that make an good actor?
-What are the kind of skills that you think are important for an actor to portray and use when playing a character????Being able to cry at the drop of a hat, pouring emotion into each character that he/she is called to portray, being able to remain serious. So many factors that make up a good actor/ actress.
Do you think Disney Channel will do an open call in Boston?
-I cannot make it to the one in VA and I just wanted to know if they'll do more open calls this summer and if they'll be any in or near the Boston/Bristol County/Rhode Island area.If you go to their sight or google them, you can see for yourself.
Who plays Beckett in Melissa and Joey?
-In season 2 episode 2 this new character named Beckett is introduced and I can't find out who he is. I was wondering if you could help me out and tell me who he is. Thanks a bunch.
Do i have the right to call myself a dancer?
-Do i have the right to call myself a dancer?
im filling out an application for an upcoming audition (its an acting audition)
but they are asking me if i dance.
i took lessons like a year or 2 ago and did 2 dance recitals. should i say i dance?
i dont really want to lie and say i do :PI'd say yes! You have some experience, and that's a lot more than other people have. Anything that can help you get the part is definitely an asset. So I'd say go for it, and if you land the part and are required to dance, I'm sure it'll all come back to you, especially since you took lessons only a year ish ago.

How to start acting before high school?
-Im 14, i also live in a small town and in not in high school yet. How do i start acting? I dont care about being famous, i just enjoy acting. My friends always tell me i should be one.Hi, first of all do not listen to that cloud guy who said you were slutty, I reported his/her answer.
Anyways, the best thing to do is to become active with your local community theaters and try to gain experience. If it's not to late to audition for a performing arts high school, go for it!!! You can act no matter how old you are or when you start. Look at Betty White! Who knows how old she is? :) Fallow your dreams and you'll just get better and better with age and practice!Get involved with local theatre groups and upload your material to youtube and go for all those competitions x

I want an Acting Career?
-I really don't know what to do. I want to start an acting career, but have no idea where to start. I am almost 13. I have never been a child actress or auditioned for anything. Acting however is my passion. I have always wanted to be that girl on television on Disney Channel, or on a hit show. As a child, I always acted and memorized skits, or even made my own. I love acting, but I just don't know where to start. I really need some help. Thanks(:Look for acting classes in your area usually found at any performing arts studios, some dance studios and acting schools. Also if you're school offers drama/acting/theatre whatever it may go by there, take it. Audition for your school productions to build a resume and also audition for any productions you can find anywhere else like at church or recreation center. You can also visit a modeling/talent agency to start a career in acting but they don't except anyone. So don't be too disappointed if you don't get in, just go to all the ones in your area or farther if you're parents are willing take you. These steps should help you get somewhere, I'm not really sure what comes after that since I don't really have a career in acting...well, not yet anyway.

Which is better, HMS Pinafore, The Iolanthe, or Pirates of Penzance?
-Just curious as to which Gilbert and Sullivan operetta anyone finds interesting / awesome / whatever. n.nI know nothing about "Iolanthe", but "Pirates" and "Pinafore" are both great, if implausable,
works. If I had to choose between those two, I'd pick "Pinafore".

Hey hun! :) Nope its not tool late! if you want, check this out for acting, it鈥檒l help you find an agent and talks about open calls for disney! http://www.youtube.com/user/thatsophiaki鈥?/a>
Anyone can change their careers at anytime, but as you get older and more established it gets harder. As long as you are under 30, though, I wouldn't worry about having missed your opportunity.
Hmmm, it is a little late...if you're cute and can audition well though you should be fine
Its never to late.

Can I submit myself for a SAG commercial even though I"m an Non-Union actor?
-Not if it says "union only". You really need an agent to get professional work.
Besides Nickelodeon and Disney, where else can a young actor with an agent hope to work?
-I'm a 15 year old male just starting my acting career. I have recently sent out resumes to different acting agencies and was just wondering...What else is there besides these two channels for me?Anywhere would be better than Disney or Nick!
As long as you've have some really good training and have had lots of experience there should be a number of options and a good agent will be able to find them for you.
But in a couple of years you'll be looking for adult roles - not kids' stuff! You can get into stage plays, Shakespeare, comedies and mystery dramas, whodunits, so many genres! And there are thousands of TV shows, and hundreds of movies made every year - lots of opportunities.
Just don't limit yourself by saying 'only TV' or 'no stage plays' - as an actor you really have to be versatile enough to do it all.
A 3-year degree-level course at a good drama school would really up your chances if you could afford it and win a place - the majority of students who graduate get work quite quickly afterwards as it's much easier to get a good agent.
Good luck!
ABC family, any commercials, sometimes things on PBS, Lifetime.

Is there any good ambition in the play Macbeth?
-It depends on how you measure the quality of ambition:
Certainly Macbeth's ambition is powerful. Overwhelming, even. It is the type of ambition that tramples over everything that gets in it's way; Even Macbeth is unable to stop it from controlling him. It reaches out and infects his wife, becoming greater than any one person can hold. In many ways, the ambition in Macbeth is like a tiny plague.
You may say that is great ambition, but perhaps you say it is a terrible ambition! If you are seeking examples of good-natured ambition, you will not find them here. Though some characters oppose Macbeth's plans; their goals are vengeance, retribution, and justice. They seek to set things right and undo the destruction Macbeth's ambition has wrought, but they do not seem to be motivated by the same quality. That's like asking is there any death in the Holocaust.
Yes lots Especially from the Main character who's ambition is too become king.

Acting Exercises, games and stuff?
-I just wrote a play and i'm going to direct it as well. I was just wondering if there are any exercises that we should do before reading the script during rehearsals or afterwards ect..After learning scenes a good idea for characterisation is if they do not have named characters let them create their own. And then perform the scenes that may have happened before, and after each scene. This allows actors to give them emotions to flow from rather than just bringing them out of the air. And the memory of this helps too.
A good game at the start of sessions is called zip, zap zop. You all stand in a circle and pretend to be passing "energy" to one another. Start with one person, and they must send the energy to someone in the circle by using an command eye contact. ZAP is used to pass the energy to someone right beside you (left or right). ZIP is used to pass it to anyone else except for the 2 either side of you. And ZOP is used as a 'block' which means the original sender must choose someone else. (I don't usually use zop, it is optional).
The intention of this exercise is to get everyone moving at the same speed. Usually you will find, at first everyone goes at different speeds. Some pass quickly and others slowly. Eventually, the group will most likely come to the same speed. This is very productive as when you have some people darting around the room, while others are moping in the corners it is not very useful.
Another exercise used to get everyone 'on the same level' is counting to twenty.
You again stand in a circle and at random times, anyone in the group must say a number, progressing from 1 to 20. If 2 people say a number at the same time, you must begin again, someone cannot say more than 2 numbers in a row, everyone must say a number and there is to be no contact as to when someone is going to say a number. It is all about getting on the same level and reading each other's UNINTENTIONAL body language.
As for warming up, shaking is good. You begin with your toes, then move to your foot, then lower leg, upper leg, fingers, hands, lower arm, upper arm, head, then whole body. This should not be a controlled shaking, just all over the place. COMPLETELY crazy =) It is good to move into an atmosphere in which you know that everyone can do silly things and not get embarrassed and is also a good warmup for bodily functions.
And that's all I can think of at the moment. Hope you like them. You need to try and warm up your actors vocally physically and it helps to et some creative juices flowing.
So improvisation games are good. I would find out if any of them new vocal warm up techniques because there are a lot and also some sort of running around game like IT, sock tag, or loads more are good.
your actors will know lots :D
My old drama teacher would do improv exercises and send two or more up. He would shout a topic or a place and we would improv. He also did the rag doll exercise to loosen us up. We had to drop our top half down like a doll over our waist. When we did that we would not put control on our arms so they would flop around. Then he made us roll up. Sorry it is hard to explain. Hope this helps!

Is agency pro worth it?
-My agency wants me to join this site but i'm not sure what to do? I would just like some different opinions on it. The software itself isn't an agency, its a link between agencies and work.

How do you get an acting job ?
-im 14 years old and my dream is to be an actor, im really good at it i play main roles in school plays, but i want a big acting job, i live in canada and i would like to know how to get an addition for some sort of showWell until 18, it's up to your parents, but try to build up a resume and get signed with a talent agency. Do some short films, college films, non - union roles or local commercials. Also, go to open calls. Disney Channel Canada does open calls year round, as does every Disney Channel(US, UK, Asia, etc)
Nickelodeon also does open calls but I believe it's not as frequent as Disney's are. Now open calls are not a promise of employment but they do help you get prepared for auditions and what to expect at them. But expect long lines, so bring something to do. You also must have a parent or legal guardian with you. Disney puts it on their site all the time when they have open calls, but I'm not sure if they post for other countries, if so print out the open call form and bring a current photo with you. They do give the form at the audition but it will look more professional. Selena Gomez got founded at an open call, so maybe you could get founded too!
Goodluck!
A dream is fantasy
Open casting calls but other than that the only way is to get experience and get an agent.
An agent is a gateway to bigger auditions.
You could go to an open casting call but other then that you would need an agent
Until you are 18 it is up to your parents.

How do i act really well?
-I want to be in a musical and im amazing at singing (as other people say) but i can not act and it looks like so much fun to be in a musical help PLEASEtry to pretend as a diff person.... join actng class else..
yes
yes
COULD I BECOME AN ACTRESS?
-Im Doing drama Classes and plays in Highschool,
plus im joining my local Theater school for several acting workshops and several theater classes?
Plus i sing aswell?
does all this criteria is good for getting an agent?Well, yes you could become an actress but most agents want you to have a resume. So do the local plays and try to find local college films and local commercials to build up a resume. Unless you go to open calls you won't get in the business fast. Also, I'm not positive on this but I guess if your really good with you monologue at your open call with an agency and you don't have a resume you could possibly get signed, but don't quote me on that. Singing is a plus as well as dancing. It's called being a triple threat, many directors look for that, especially on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Take some lessons too, and practice different accents and learn different languages, movies and television shows are always asking actresses and actors to learn accents or languages in a month of less. So won't you look better than the others up for the role when you say, "I already learned so & so."
It could be helpful, but the most important thing is your being an actress now in the school and community plays and musicals, that is going to tell an agent if you are any good.

Who Do You Think Should Play the Roll as Casey Anthony?
-for me, I think Jennifer Love Hewite would play well as Anthony cause
- she is very good at acting (and crying/drama)
- she kinda looks like her.Jennifer Love Hewitt
That case really sickens me and if they even dare to make it into a movie, i will not be attending.
Kristen Stewart cause shes an emotionless trollop

How can a 12 year old boy start acting on shows or films?
-How would they go around it?By getting into a good acting class and working really hard for a few years, while getting experience doing stage plays, etc.
Then you might be good enough to get an agent, if you're seriously talented, and the agent would then get you some auditions.
You'd then have to attend and win the auditions.
No-one employs untrained inexperienced beginners.
Only if your parents are onboard with it because you are a minor by law on set until you are 18 and one of your parents would need to be with you at all times.
If they are on board, you need to start with an agent. You can audition without one but its a lot easier if you have someone working for you.
BEWARE - AGENTS DO NOT CHARGE MONEY UP FRONT they take a percentage of your pay when you work.
Good luck!
heck yeah look at good luck charlie, but i don't know how to start, just get noticed

Do you have to live in LA and stuff to model?
-I want to do some modeling during the summer next year (cali) but I don't live in LA, I live in a small town. How would I be able to meet photographers and stuff? And find jobs. There is no need to live in LA to be a model. Online, look up your town's (or surrounding towns) modeling agencies. An agent can set you up with jobs near you.Modelling is one of the most expensive hobby. If you are son of millionaire, things will come to your door steps, and make you model in over night.
I have a question about the disney open casting call?
-is it true that at the door if you have no agent they are going to turn you away?
im just curios, i have 2 agencies representing me so i know i'm good, im so wondering :3
and also anyone who has been to these open casting calls, may you please provide the experiance you had there?
thank you so much! (:

Are Membership Fees in Amateur/Community Theatre simply to get your money?
-Often when you do a Community/Amateur Theatre show they ask a Membership Fee from you.
Which I often put off paying 'cause I figure:
A. There are craftsman that do get paid eg: Director, Set Construction, Writer etc.
B. They're making money off your performance each night the show runs.
Though lately I've heard the terms "it's for your benefit, if anything happens to you onstage you're covered by insurance". However if something did happen to you, eg. say you fall on one of their set pieces and break your leg - aren't you covered by public liability anyway? If you broke your leg, had to go to hospital and they refused to pay, couldn't you sue them for it?
I'm not in the habit of taking people to court and (knock on wood) I don't regularly injure myself onstage - though as an Actor I'm not a big fan of paying for my performance while someone else is making money from it, either.
What do you think?that IS a pretty good conspiracy theory, it made me think. Usually my theatre doesn't use that excuse but they are non-profit so everything we fork up goes back into the show. it sounds like your theatre is more "professional" than mine. The reason they give you sounds totally fake, but i do know of other theatres that make you pay to be in a production
The company I'm part of charges 拢100 per show. But then they have to pay to hire rehearsal space, money for the director/MD/choreographer/techies then also cost of sets and costume. Plus theatre hire and show royalties then insurance so yeah it's alot of money but then its a good quality production and I get alot out of then.
There are alot of scam companies. Amateur theatre doesn't make money so you have to pay to be in it. There are no hard and fast rules as to how much they charge but this doesn't always correlate to the quality of the show. Just do the research into the company!

Auditioning for beauty and the beast?
-I'm auditioning for beauty and the beast and I want a main part but I would be fine getting one of gaston's admirers. I was planning to put that I'd only accept a main character but as I said before I'm fine with being one of gaston's admirers. If I put that I'll only accept a main part is there a chance I'll get one of the admirers or just one of the enchanted objects, gaston, beast or belle. (yes, girls can play beast and gaston.)Most of the time, what you say on audition applications is what goes. If you say only consider me for main roles, then the auditioners will only consider you for the main roles, and vice versa. I would reccomend stating that you would accept any role because then it is a lot more likely that you would be considered for a majority of the parts.
Hope this helps!

I want to be a child actor really bad please help?
-hey i have said i want to be an actor in my other questions but now i want to be like a child/teenage actor my parents know i want to be an actor just not at my age right now and i really want to do this but they said that i should go and be in the school play to see if thats what i want to do but i dont want to be on the stage i want to on the tv screen os the big screen/cinema but preferbly on tv doing some sort of tv programme so any advice on how to get there and/or tell my parents? i really want this but i also dont know were to start please help i live in northern ireland belfast area so please help this is my dreamlol
It is rare for someone who has no acting experience to just get on to TV/Films. Wanting something rarely means just getting it on a plate. Your parents are asking you to show how committed you can be to your dream and a way of gaining some experience and insight, if the school play is "beneath you," then join a proper local drama group. Junior drama schools are often head-hunted for talent by TV shows looking to cast and also it if you are a member you can start to build a portfolio of work and then you can consider going to castings yourself (with your parents backing).
TV & films often look for extras to take part in background scenes and there are websites/groups you can join that let people know when certain movies are expected to hit town (as it were) and you could then audition for an extra's position.
You're not going to get far with your dream without your parents support because you won't be able to afford to travel. They're going to be more likely to support you if you show them with actions how serious your dream is rather than just throwing a tantrum and saying "but I want it real bad." Time to show them you're growing up and mature. Get yourself a part in a local production, make sure you don't miss any rehearsals for petty reasons (good actors are very committed to their work), and get a taste for how hard it can be, putting in the effort required to keep up with school and commit to a show.
Good luck.
It's also several thousand other people's 'dream' who are the exact same age as you to want to become rich and famous, too many people are trying for an easy lifestyle. You have to really stand out and have talent.
If you're 100% set on this, then prepared for a lot of disappointment. Be prepared for criticism too, if you can't turn criticism into positivity, and do something about the criticism to become a better actor then there's also no point carrying this 'dream' on.
It takes a lot of hard work and travelling to become one, are your parents prepared to do this or would they rather have an easy life and just leave you in school?

It's also several thousand other people's 'dream' who are the exact same age as you to want to become rich and famous, too many people are trying for an easy lifestyle. You have to really stand out and have talent.
If you're 100% set on this, then prepared for a lot of disappointment. Be prepared for criticism too, if you can't turn criticism into positivity, and do something about the criticism to become a better actor then there's also no point carrying this 'dream' on.
It takes a lot of hard work and travelling to become one, are your parents prepared to do this or would they rather have an easy life and just leave you in school?
What's the name of this short play?
-It's about 9/11, and it starts out with the narrator having an audience member flip a coin. that continues to be a metaphor through the whole play and the characters die/live by chance.
i've been trying to figure it out for hours, Please help!

Can you earn an average income as a local actor?
-Allow me to clarify. The way people talk about making a living as an actor, it seems like there are only two possibilities -- either struggling to get by, waiting tables for income or "making it" in Hollywood. Isn't there a middle road, making say $40,000 a year acting in local productions? Why does it seem like it's either international fame or nothing when it comes to acting? I hope my question is clear. Thanks!I think most of the struggle that comes to mind in terms of actors has to do with the fact that you are virtually never steadily employed. If you do manage to get jobs at local dinner theaters or even regional theatres, you're in better shape. Also try to get an Equity Card and take the necessary steps to obtain one. Teaching drama and acting is a semi-lucrative way to get by too. There is a middle road, but even that is shaky, and there's always that terror between jobs when you're unemployed again. Acting's simply not one of the steadier professions. Simple as that. Good luck, though.

Can you become a film actress if you have tattoo sleeves?
-Now, when I say sleeve, I don't mean the entire arm is covered. Just part of the upper arms. I had to get them done to cover OLD self harm scars. Can I ever be a film actress? Will I not be hired because of my tats? They can be hidden with make up, right? it's not a hassle.Yeah, you can. Makeup should cover them up.
J. Depp has hella lot tattoos. His arms are usually covered though..lolIt can be a real problem, I'm afraid.
Some agents won't take on anyone with a single tat! Actually, scars are easier to hide.
Just make sure that you're good enough at covering them up completely and with something that won't rub off easily.
Then, if you get to an audition or an interview with an agent and they ask, you can show them and prove your point.
While professional actors get make-up artists to do the work for them at all the lower levels you'd be expected to do your own make-up.
It depends, I think. They can be covered with make up or costumes. If your acting skill is good and they think you fit they'll look past your tattoos. Johnny Depp has a few tattoos that they cover up in movies. I think that if they don't come right out and say "you can't have tattoos" you're fine.
of course not! if you are a good enough actress they wont care they'll just cover them up with makeup, make some adjustments to your costume, or they wont even care and you can have them showing on set. unless the part specifically says "absolutely no tattoos" the director wont care
Sadly, in the acting business you probably won't be hired if you are covered in tattoos. Why would they bother if they can get someone else without the tattoos? That will save them hundreds of dollars in make up and time.
Depends on the directer

What to look for in a talent agent?
-I really want to be an actress not for fame but because I am good and I enjoy it! I am considering getting a talent agent to help me start up a career but I want to get one that will actually help. I know the high profile agencies won't let me in because I have 0 experience but lessons and a few school productions but are there any less famous agencies you would recommend? Also what sort of stuff do you need to know about them before you choose?Whoa! An agent is not the first thing you need. And you need more han a few school producions.
About Agents: Once an aspiring actor has a good resume, he or she is ready to begin to work for a career. While building your resume and until you are well established as a professional actor, you need to network. My article on Networking for Success explains how to do that. Networking includes fishing for a agent. I call it fishing because that is exactly how the process of getting an agent works 鈥?just like angling for a fish. The aspiring actor needs to find an agency within a couple hours of where he or she lives. Agents do not sign people who live out of state or at a far distance from the agency. Then you need to submit for representation according to the instructions given on the agency web site. Of course, you are wary of scams as described in my book, The Tao of Acting. Feel free to contact me anytime to check the validity of an agency. You need a good headshot, resume and cover letter. (see 鈥淗ow to Write a Cover letter, etc鈥?on my website). You will be sending these things to the agency. Occasionally, an agency will have an open audition at a specified day each week or month and you can take your things and attend one of those. Do not start looking for an agent before you are ready. It isn鈥檛 true that getting an agent is the first thing you need to do to become an actor. It usually is the last thing. First you need to be an actor, working in amateur plays and films, taking an occasional class and building a strong resume that is proof that you can make money for an agent. All the while you are networking as explained in 鈥淣etworking for Success鈥?on my web site. Trying to get an agent before you are ready just will disappoint you. Read what Brian O鈥橬eil has to say about how to get an agent in Acting As A Business.. It can take a long time, years even, before an agent becomes interested in representing you. Like all matters of becoming an actor, you must not give up if you are to be successful in finding an agent. For more information about agents and how the work go to http://talentagents.blogspot.com . It is a really good site with solid information.you don't start out by looking for an agent. you start with getting training, experience and building a resume. agents are last on the list. agents only get paid if you work. they won't waste time on someone who doesn't know what their doing. you need to be located where your agent is. agents only send you on calls local to them. you need to find agencies looking for new clients. most places don't read unsolicited mail. the size and name of the agent can be immaterial. all mainstream agents get
their audition info. from the same source, so one is not necessarily going to know something the others don't. you want an agency that doesn't have a lot of clients that look like you. there is enough competition out there already, you don't want to have to compete within your own agency just to get out
on a call. the name of an agency has no bearing on what kind of auditions they have access to. any mainstream agent has access to whats out there around them.

Is the song part of your world from the little mermaid a good audition song ?
-The musical will be into the woods, the auditions aren't til august but I love to prepare beforehand this is my first actual production so I thought this song was easy and nice. You don't have to sing a song from the musical so will this song cut it? Help please:)The best part of the song would be the part that shows the best part of your particular voice. And speakingof "easy and nice"--Sondheim might be nice---but not easy. Have you listened, and perhaps tried to sing along to the music from "Into the Woods"? Since you are thinking about doing a song from "Little Mermaid"--I'm presuming you're young and this might be "Into the Woods, Jr" which is the school/young people edition. Still, the music is going to be challenging---and more importantly--requires strong acting skills. If you could also pick a part of the song that will allow you to "act" while you sing--that will help. If you know other songs from musicals, you might want to try those as alternatives. "Part of Your World" is kind of done to death among young girls---and please don't do anything from "Wicked" either.
On the other hand, that is Jodi Bensons's signature song. A lot of people have butchered that song.
You should choose another song that is suitable for a teenage girl.

How do you search for open castings for acting gigs?
-Without using the internet.
Pennysaver?
Newspaper?
How do people find these gigs?check around you for local theater and student and ind. film auditions. their open calls. you can find
community theaters in your phone book. any college near you that has film programs will have student films you can try out for. look in the classifieds of your newspaper for ind. film auditions. for
professional tv and movie auditions, you will need the proper agent to know about them and you will need to be located where they are.Open casting calls are 9 times out of 10 a publicity stunt. If there is an open casting call (which is very rare), then you are seen after everyone who has an agent and experience.
The only place where people are hired at casting calls is IN MOVIES! (lol)
To get acting gigs, that aren't extra work, you need to be trained in acting. You need to be involved in every community project that you can be in.
Newspapers are not places to find work as an actor, those ads are scams.
You pretty much need the internet to find out about acting auditions. Best way to stay informed and the quickest way.

How to improv a fake identity on the spot?
-Say you meet someone you're never gonna see again and just want to screw around and pretend your someone else like add an accent, walk differently, think differently, and talk differently than normal. Or you just want to have some laughs with your friends by acting like a sterotype. Or last but not least, you did something that you regret, people come and see whats up, you need to talk your way out of the situation. How can you improv these things or identities quickly and on the spot?Be someone you've always wanted someone perfect. or test people talk with a lisp or have a scratchy voice ad see if people judge you
Please Help! Will award points. What should I do next to become an actor?
-Ok, here is the situation; I am an 18 year old male and I want to become an actor. Here is the issue, I don't know what to do next. I live in Maryland and there aren't many theatres to gain experience. My parents don't really like the idea of becoming an actor as they feel it isn't a "real life" job. As a result they won't pay for any classes or training so I don't have any formal training. Ever since then I've been working a day job to make money and I practice speaking, voice, stage movement, dancing, singing, accents, tone, I write scripts and monologues and practice them in front of my family and friends, I talk to my camera and mirror to watch my facial expressions, I've bought theatre books and audition books, I've joined my community colleges film club and was a lead talent in a video that wasn't produced due to funds. I feel that since I haven't done any training, there are no theatres around, and I'm already 18, I might not be good enough to make it in the biz which I already know is tough. So my questions are should I continue to self teach myself the craft of acting and continue my schools film club or would it be better to attend the film academy in New York and take it from there? I mean what should I do? Where to go next? What's the next step? Oh and it irritates me that some people can get famous from lip syncing on youtube I mean anyone can do that, it requires zero skill, and then people who work hard everyday preparing for auditions and breathe, sweat, bleed, cry, laugh talent never make it, that bugs me. But that's the world. So anyway what do I do next? Any comments and answers and suggestions are welcome and please be serious, greatly thankful and much appreciated.hi i dont have any advice im in the same boat but im a few years younger just repost it a couple times until someone answers it
I live in the LA area and I have wanted to be an actress since I was a little girl. Maybe because I live near most of the major studios, my parents have had me in acting classes since I was little. I also took drama for 4-years in high school and I'm enrolled in a really good acting school here in LA now. If you are enrolled in an acting school, the schools (even the high schools) get notified when any of the major studios need Extras or have parts for young actors and actresses. I've been on set as an Extra lots of times and I just recently got a small speaking part in a major motion picture staring Jennifer Aniston.
From my perspective, it's really important to have formal training. The competition is very tough for any small part and only the best get chosen. Kevin Costner came to my high school once to talk to the class and he actually got his start in movies by being an Extra. He had no prior training but, did enroll in school for a while because he felt he needed to be better if he was to succeed. Kevin said it's very important to be easy to work with on the set and if they like you, they will find opportunities for you and if you do a good job, other opportunities will come your way.
Yay Adam! Excellent advice.
And you are SO going to succeed! You're not one of these silly kids who ask 'I've never had a class and never been in a play but I wanna be a famous actor'.
You're realistic and obviously a hard-worker with the will to get there - however long it takes.
A drama school/academy would be just what you need, and with your record they'd probably be happy to have you. They're expensive, but really worth it.
I know what you mean about the kids who get famous with zero talent - but yeah, life isn't fair - whoever said it was meant to be? And only an idiot wants fame anyway - it's a shallow goal for daft kids.
You may well have to move to somewhere more acting-orientated, but that's what actors do. You go where the work is and follow your dream.
My great-great uncle was a young vicar in London. He was bored and set forth for the USA in 1890 and ended up in Maryland at the grand old age of 24 as a padre in an iron mine - he looked for adventure and set out to find it!
Go find your adventure as an actor! I wish you well.

Acting roles for beginners to practice?
-Are there any roles that you would recommend for a beginner to practice in front of a mirror or with someone else? Also, any good places to go to act with other beginners in Denver for practice? Links would be appreciated.
Do not give me spam, I will report you if you do.It's hard to say a beginning role but it is unhealthy to practice in front of a mirror so don't do that.
An easy role is a role that plays to your strengths. Perhaps you would find puck from midsummer nights dream easy or perhaps you would be more suited to something like Hermia.
Also it depends what you find easier newer contemporary plays or Shakespeare stuff.
My best tip is just to thin what you would do in your characters situation and work out why the character feels different if they do and they try and understand.
Practising on your own is a bad idea - you could be teaching yourself all sorts of bad habits! And how will you know if you're doing well or not? You can't judge your own progress.
Find a good acting class and join in. Ask at your local library, at school or look in the phone book.
What you can do, as well as the classes, is read loads of books, lots of plays, and practise learning loads of lines.
But without classes, you don't stand a chance.
Good luck!

What is the rate for models and actors?
-I would like tp know the rate for beginner models and actors in the canadian industry. For modeling if you are a 'new face' signed to a top Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal agency like Ford, Elite, Next, Liz Bell, Folio, etc you are probably making a day rate of $250-350 depending on the job - though you will also be working a number of unpaid jobs just so you can get experienc

2. NO FILM TELEVISION AUDITIONS WEBSITE! it is not a way to get into the business, you need an agent1
take some acting classes and then find an agency! if you want more help, REAL HELP, check this out http://www.youtube.com/user/thatsophiaki鈥?/a> I have expeirence in the industry and I was on set yesterday..Audition everywhere you can ...hopefully you will land an agent somewhere and they will find some work for you.. Try John Robert Powers (if they have one in your area..I'm sure they do..its a great agency that offercs classes on acting, singing, dancing and modeling..)they teach you how to do commericals..comedy..and a bunch of other things
Start off by taking some acting classes. Then, online look for any talent agencies in your area. Contact them and set up a meeting. They can set you up with an agent who will then set you up with auditions. Any plays, acting classes, acting camp, etc. that you do can be added to your resume.
Ignore the John Robert powers thing they make u pay 10000 and yes there are 4 0s here this is good http://www.filmtelevisionauditions.com/2011/06/disney-channel-talent-search-open.html

I want to become an actress, where do i begin?
-im located in los angeles, no acting education just sheer talent and love for the career, age 21.Okay - you say that you have sheer talent, but to be honest, your own opinion counts for nothing.
Also, how can you say that you love the career when you don't yet have one? What you imagine, and the reality of being an actor are very different. It's a really tough job at the best of times, very few actors ever manage to earn a living by acting alone, and few ever land a really good role at all.
If you haven't had a few years of classes and gained loads of experience, you'll find it very difficult to get anywhere at all.
Acting is a very competitive business, and at auditions, casting directors expect to see proof of your training and experience - they won't bother with you if you've had none or little.
Most auditions are only found through good agents, but agents only accept professionally trained actors who have a massive resume to show them.
It would be like me walking into a huge hotel and asking for the job of head chef. Just saying that I can cook isn't going to get me the job - they'd want to see my college diplomas or uni degree and a whole load of references from previous employers.
It's the same with acting. It's a huge business, with huge sums of money riding on every single play, TV show or film, so no-one would risk employing a beginner.
Get into a good class and start learning - and for heaven's sake, don't go saying how talented you are. No-one likes a big-head.
Good luck!1st you need to be in some plays and or acting classes. You mainly need some experiences. Then you try to find some auditions online.
I thought you started by lying on a couch ;-)

How Do I Know If These Disney Channel Audition Web Sites Are Real?
-I Want to Audition For Disney Channel But I Dont Know If These Web Sites Are Scam's & I Send My Information To A Random Person You Know? That's what I want to do too! Don't use websites that say disneychannelauditions.com or one's that ask for money and don't give reliable information. Disney Channel itself puts on it's website when they hold open calls to the public. You do not need an agent for this and there is no fee to attend. Selena Gomez got founded at an open call for Disney. They have an open call coming up this Saturday in Richmond, VA I had planned on attending but I sadly cannot now ):
Here's disney's website with the infomation. If VA is too far away, bookmark the page they do open calls year around and always put it on their website. Also when attending one, dress your age and dress nice, print out the open call form and fill it out and bring it with you and a current photo they can keep. I know they give a form at the open call but it will make you seem more professional with already having it. Also practice some emotional monologues at home so you can be prepared for the open call.
http://tv.disney.go.com/disneychannel/op鈥?/a>
Goodluck!Those websites are mostly scams
ALL legitimate Disney Channel open calls are listed on Disney's own website
http://tv.disney.go.com/disneychannel/op鈥?/a>
They only do 2 per year - this year it was Austin and tomorrow Richmond
Last year it was Austin and Nashville
The year before it was Denver and NYC
If you cannot go to these open calls then you need to live in LA and be signed to an agent to get info about Disney Channel auditions - websites do not list this info. The auditions are only open to actors represented by agencies
Most of the Disney auditions you find online or hear on the radio are scam schools that will want you to pay up to $9000 or pay monthly fees and you'll never get an actual audition
most Disney auditions are in LA and are found through an agent. except for their yearly open calls.
if the audition info. is not clear as to what its for and there are no character descriptions or film names,
its a scam. Disney doesn't put auditions on web sites unless you want to work at one of the theme parks and its on their web site.
I think your best bet would be to sign up to the auditions on the Disney Website. It's good that you are wary about sending information to unknown companies. Only send your information out to the official Disney website if you want to avoid being scammed.
But Disney does post open auditions in various cities. There is or was one this week in Richmond and Austin has them yearly. You just have to keep checking the web site.
They are not. The only way to get a disney channel audition is to go through an agent. Disney does NOTpost online auditions. You will need an agent if you want to get a disney audition.

What's your opinion on actor Jack Black?
-Jack Black is cool & he's doing well for himself.
His demographic is probably ages 5 - 35yrs of age, he's appeals to the same audience as Adam Sandler does/did and then some.
He makes a great voice actor, Kung Fu Panda 2, Kung Fu Panda, Brutal Legend (video game), Shark Tale, etc.
He makes me laugh and his films are great to watch when you feel like something light or uplifting, he's endearing.
All the best :)Honestly, I don't find him very good at acting and he's not that funny. He seems to act very immature and I don't think he's that successful. But that's just my opinion. He is signed with an agent, so someone thinks he's good.
I think he can be really funny an really annoying. I don't like him that well, but I can, however see why people would like him. Just because he can get on my nerves doesn't mean he is a bad actor.
hes alright

How do i act really well?
-I want to be in a musical and im amazing at singing (as other people say) but i can not act and it looks like so much fun to be in a musical help PLEASEtry to pretend as a diff person.... join actng class else..
yes
yes
I want to be an actor or singer ?
-Okay, so this past weekend I was in Los Angeles & my cousin was at a convention for iPOP. He was trying out to be an actor. Earlier today his grandma called and said he got 4 callbacks & a 1st place trophy for all his Skits. I've always wanted to be an actor/singer. My family tells me all the time that I sing great. So when I was at this iPOP convention this past weekend, I seen girls/ Boys as young as probably 5 years old there. I kind of got teary-eyed because their going out for their dream and im just in the house, not even trying to go for my dream. I filled out a couple of applications for auditions but im kind of scared. And another this is, The reason i wont go for my dream is because my mom works all the time and wont be able to take me to some of the auditions. And I also don't have a agent. Any tips or advice? Please no negative things. If it's your dream.. Follow it.
'when the going gets tough the tough get going.'
'don't follow your dreams... Chase them.'
'if at first you don't succeed, just remember you can do it & keep following your dreams'
If you want to do it, go for it! Only audition for parts that your mom can take you to because if you can't make it, then it's not meant to be. And don't be scared. If you have talent... Show the world. You'll regret later in life. <33 GOOD LUCK!sing and act at every opportunity, play, talent show, church, wedding, funeral, whatever. Get so experienced that you are not scared to audition for anyone. You also need to take private voice lessons and professional acting classes. iPOP is only as good as the results one gets. Your cousin is to be commended for his trophy and callbacks, which are interviews. You do not say if he was signed by any of the agents who interviewed him. If not, iPOP was an expensive learning situation and that's it.
Do anything and everything to follow your dreams. ( within reason) Make videos of yourself with different talents you posess and send them out to conservatories or even to casting directors. Tell them about your dreams and i think you should go far :) Never give up. Life is filled with chances!
AUDITION, AUDITION, AUDITION!
Since you are still young and are beginning to pursue your dream I reccomend getting as much experience as you possibly can through local or community theatre, join choir in school, take acting or singing lessons if you wish, and have fun with it. Once you do it for a few years and decide that you are truly passionate about acting, then look for professional auditions or send resumes to agents. But in my opinion, doing community theatre is all I could ask for because its what I love and im not in it to become famous. The entertainment business is really tough and onlly go for it if its truly the thing you want most.
Good luck!

What kind of set can I build with $70,000 Aus?
-Just curious about how elaborate a stage set I could build with this 70 grand. If you have any figures about how many backdrops I could have as well as how much they spend on broadway sets it would be great. Thanks!
What's the name of this short play?
-It's about 9/11, and it starts out with the narrator having an audience member flip a coin. that continues to be a metaphor through the whole play and the characters die/live by chance.
i've been trying to figure it out for hours, Please help!

Why do people still go to Hollywood to be discovered as actors when most movies are being made in Canada?
-Movies and TV shows are actually filmed in hundreds of locations, but the companies tend to be based in a few cities only, like Hollywood, New York, London UK, etc.
I don't think it's true that most movies are made in Canada, although it's often used as a location.
It's more practical if actors, casting directors, agents and so on are all based near each other, and Hollywood is packed with all of them! Many major production companies and talent agencies are based in L.A., and that is where films are conceived and cast. A lot of location filming is done in Canada because it is more affordable and there are plenty of remote locales, but the business end of movie making is done in Hollywood.
even if that is true, hollywood is still the home base for most agencies. it takes agents to get parts. plus the studios are in hollywood.
that's where most of the casting is done. movies might be made in Canada, but their not all cast from there. where movies are cast is not always where their made and vice versa.
But the people who make the decisions are in Hollywood.
movies are not made in boring no news canada
LOL good one! this should be in jokes and humour.

How would i start my acting career?
-Alright. So i have decided to become an actress. let me tell you a little bit about myself: Im blonde, have blue-greyish green eyes, im 13, and im also 5'3. i also sing and play guitar and have been doing this for about 5-6 years. and im going into 8th grade once school lets out. i have read online that i need a portfolio. What's that? could you tell me how to get one? and how long do you think it'll take me since im thirteen now to hit it big? and one more question: What states should i go to to pursue my dream? I live in New Jersey. when i grow up more i really want to live in California. My parents say theyre not going to push me though, like some other celebs that have been kid actors. But thats what i wanna do. start now so i can gain some experience. I have none whatsoever. just a couple days ago i set my mind to pursue this dream. Answer, and ill take a look at your profile! here's a pic of me: http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=159636600775178&set=a.102233156515523.3613.100001865168635&type=1&theater

Megan <3The steps to being an actor are the steps you take.
When you're ready, here's how to Find and Apply for an Agent:

Answers that give you a bulk ladder in how to become an actor are false.
As anyone can become an Actor just as anyone can become a cook.
Acting isn't the same as being famous and Acting means many different things to many different people.
The best step for you to take, is the step that is available to you.
Once you take that step I'm sure you will gain insight as to what you'd like to pursue and what step you'd like next to take.
All the best :)A portfalio is something that give info. and ect. about you. Like who you are, pictures, hobbies, who've you worked with, its kinda like a autobiography. You can ask your parents to set you one up on the internet. One way to become really big is from youtube.
Oh, yea. Never give up, because trust me, the first time your going to try to become "big" your going to fail.
well i cant really help you since all child actors there parents help them and take them to auditions and since you dont know that much about acting it might take long time and its a hard indrusty lots of girls you age want to be famous but that just a fantasy real life is hard and also you need to live california to go auditions
You can practice your acting career facing the mirror inside the bathroom.
