Is the song part of your world from the little mermaid a good audition song ?

-The musical will be into the woods, the auditions aren't til august but I love to prepare beforehand this is my first actual production so I thought this song was easy and nice. You don't have to sing a song from the musical so will this song cut it? Help please:)The best part of the song would be the part that shows the best part of your particular voice. And speakingof "easy and nice"--Sondheim might be nice---but not easy. Have you listened, and perhaps tried to sing along to the music from "Into the Woods"? Since you are thinking about doing a song from "Little Mermaid"--I'm presuming you're young and this might be "Into the Woods, Jr" which is the school/young people edition. Still, the music is going to be challenging---and more importantly--requires strong acting skills. If you could also pick a part of the song that will allow you to "act" while you sing--that will help. If you know other songs from musicals, you might want to try those as alternatives. "Part of Your World" is kind of done to death among young girls---and please don't do anything from "Wicked" either.
On the other hand, that is Jodi Bensons's signature song. A lot of people have butchered that song.



You should choose another song that is suitable for a teenage girl.
