-Are there any roles that you would recommend for a beginner to practice in front of a mirror or with someone else? Also, any good places to go to act with other beginners in Denver for practice? Links would be appreciated.
Do not give me spam, I will report you if you do.It's hard to say a beginning role but it is unhealthy to practice in front of a mirror so don't do that.
An easy role is a role that plays to your strengths. Perhaps you would find puck from midsummer nights dream easy or perhaps you would be more suited to something like Hermia.
Also it depends what you find easier newer contemporary plays or Shakespeare stuff.
My best tip is just to thin what you would do in your characters situation and work out why the character feels different if they do and they try and understand.
Practising on your own is a bad idea - you could be teaching yourself all sorts of bad habits! And how will you know if you're doing well or not? You can't judge your own progress.
Find a good acting class and join in. Ask at your local library, at school or look in the phone book.
What you can do, as well as the classes, is read loads of books, lots of plays, and practise learning loads of lines.
But without classes, you don't stand a chance.
Good luck!
