Is there any good ambition in the play Macbeth?

-It depends on how you measure the quality of ambition:

Certainly Macbeth's ambition is powerful. Overwhelming, even. It is the type of ambition that tramples over everything that gets in it's way; Even Macbeth is unable to stop it from controlling him. It reaches out and infects his wife, becoming greater than any one person can hold. In many ways, the ambition in Macbeth is like a tiny plague.

You may say that is great ambition, but perhaps you say it is a terrible ambition! If you are seeking examples of good-natured ambition, you will not find them here. Though some characters oppose Macbeth's plans; their goals are vengeance, retribution, and justice. They seek to set things right and undo the destruction Macbeth's ambition has wrought, but they do not seem to be motivated by the same quality. That's like asking is there any death in the Holocaust.

Yes lots Especially from the Main character who's ambition is too become king.
