Would a mystery be a good topic for a one act play?

-I have to write a play and I can't find a good topic... I was thinking about a mystery, but I'm not sure if I want to do a mystery. Any suggestions?Mysteries are great..but they need to be drug out a little to make sure the main idea is conveyed. Stay away from murder or a violent crime. Use suspense instead of gore and horror...it makes the audience more chilled in the long run.
