What are the ways to make it an actress if I don't want to go to drama school?

-I'm studying a science degree at a leading university. The first three answers all have a point, but if you're in the UK, where I am, many leading drama schools offer a post-grad one-year course. As long as you're a uni graduate, in any subject, you can apply and auditions. It's still very difficult to get in, and the year is very hard work - they basically fit three years training into the one. But they think that if you're intelligent enough to get a degree and also have some life experience, you might just be able to do it!

If you're not in the UK, find out if they have such things where you are - but honestly, you'll still need to get a good training and loads of experience.

No-one employs amateurs or beginners, and without any good training on your CV/resume, it's going to be virtually impossible to get an agent, which is where auditions are found.

Good luck!Just pretend to be something you're not.

No, really, that's what actresses do, right?

Seriously, you don't just go to drama schools for the education alone. Making it in the world of acting, as in pretty much any field, depends not only on what you know, but WHO you know. The contacts you make at a good school, not to mention the credentials you earn, can serve you as well as the education itself.

Of course, in the end, it is POSSIBLE to make it as an actress without the proper training and credentials (and contacts) but it is extremely unlikely. The reality is, if you are likely to get into films without the proper qualifications they will probably be the kind you don't want your father to know about.
If you're not willing to put in the time necessary to acquire acting skills, then you aren't likely to have the determination to succeed as an actress.
None, thats like saying i want to be a lawyer but i don't want to go to law school.
