Are Movies killing the Stage Play Shows?

-Not anymore than they have over the past century of film. Yes, they effect the theatre audience, but part of that is also the culture we're raised in and the fact theatre isn't accessible everywhere and to everyone (either by cost or location). Movies are relatively cheap to go to and most towns have a movie theater, but theatre is usually seen as an upper class activity for rich people to attend. Ballet and Opera have this opinion more so than theatre. One nice thing that has been coming around lately are things like the Met and Kennedy center productions being filmed and shown in movie theatres around the country, this gives everyday people a chance to see things like Carmen and Company for an affordable price. Not anymore than they have over the past century of film. - just saying that I spent a couple of minutes looking for an article to site here but couldn't find one :P-

Sad though I will always be a fan of the stage :)

Definitely . Now-a-days movies have got a lot of interesting animations which can not be seen in any live stage play due to this the viewers get more attracted to movies than to stage play shows even when the plays sometimes contain nice theme to bring home.
